Cookies

A 'cookie' is a small text file that is downloaded onto the hard drive of your computer (or other device) when you visit a particular website.  Cookies cannot identify you personally, but they can remember activities and preferences chosen by you and your browser.

The law relating to the use of cookies changed in 2012.  Cookies can be used, but, unless covered by specific exemptions for cookies that are 'strictly necessary', any user must be told about the cookies and given the choice as to which of their online activities are monitored in this way.  For further information on cookie legislation, see www.ico.org.uk

How we use cookies

We use Google Analytics 'first party' cookies. They help us to understand how our site is being used - for example, the number of visitors to the site, and which pages are viewed most often.  The information collected is anonymous and cannot identify individuals.  Google Analytics cookies usually expire either at the end of the browsing session or after a fixed period of time if you do not revisit the site.  For further information, see Google Analytics

We do not use any third-party, persistent or flash cookies.  We are not involved in any sales or marketing activity, and have no advertising on our site.

Disabling cookies

You can prevent the setting of cookies by adjusting the settings on your browser (see your browser's Help for how to do this, or visit www.aboutcookies.org).

Please note that disabling cookies will affect the functionality of this website and adversely affect your experience. We therefore recommend that you do not disable cookies.
